Resilient Business Systems are featured in the Summer 2009 North East Edition of Business Quarter. RBS were chosen for an article "Every Little Helps", all about small businesses making a difference in their community, due to their sponsorship of one of the North East's most promising young athletes. Charlie Pepper is a 15 year old from Norton, near Stockton. She has twice competed at Wimbledon in the under 14s tennis tournament and has recently represented her school in athletics at the Wigan ISA Northern Event where she won the 100m and 200m and also won a trophy as best girl athlete. Andy is a close friend of Charlie's parents and, upon hearing about her precocious tennis talent and also the astronomical costs of training a budding tennis star, up to £20,000 a year, he felt he would like to help. RBS therefore became one of Charlie's main sponsors. When it was realised that Charlie also had a exceptional talent for athletics and it was decided that tennis would take a back seat for Charlie to concentrate on her running, RBS agreed to provide further sponsorship. Charlie's mum was quoted as saying "He [Andrew] has made a huge difference, he has helped with equipment and he has done anything he can to help."
